Mint is a love story.

Persephone, the wife of Hades, was so jealous that she savagely trampled her rival until she was reduced to pieces and then transformed her into an aromatic plant: mint!
Mad with grief, Hades traveled the countryside in search of his old love.

PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
In the first millennium BC, in Egypt, peppermint already existed. Archaeologists have found dried leaves of this species inside the pyramids of Egypt. This represents the oldest known trace of peppermint found in the world.
It was used at length by the Greeks and Hebrews for its fragrant properties. While mint was considered an aphrodisiac during Antiquity, the Middle Ages used it in medicine and cooking. The Romans, they picked its leaves to flavor their sauces and wines.
Quickly, peppermint took its place in the European pharmacopoeia, in particular for its essential oil. It is present all over the world, in part thanks to the facilities linked to its culture, and to its multiple properties.
